StaffViven LundyGavin Brown/Helen Ryden/Gina Nicholl The Special Educational Needs Department in Hazelwood provides a nurturing and caring environment for pupils with specific individual learning needs such as ASD, Dyslexia, ADHD, Social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. It is manned by SENCO Vivien Lundy and Assistant SENCO Gavin Brown, both of whom are qualified teachers of English. They are supported by a team of trained Teaching Assistants who work hard to ensure that each pupil in the SEN department has full access to the curriculum and enjoys a varied and engaging experience at Hazelwood. Within the setting of ‘The Project Room’ pupils are given specialist teaching to develop literacy, numeracy, social and emotional skills. |
